The popular resale platform has revised its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel failing to inform all users about the change. Digital Channels Reaction Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification versus the original listing because of the remapping. The platform stated the new system was more in line with other platforms. The platform has recommended to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Measurement Approach Modifications Previously, the sizes had both one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10. With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Experiences Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Another user, from Glasgow, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she explained. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she said. This represents another occasion that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: previously, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
